Micropropagation Lab

The Micropropagation Laboratory is located at Mayland Community College (MCC). Micropropagation is a technique for clonally reproducing plants. The lab enables the production of commercial quantities of selected plants with superior characteristics that are difficult to root or do not come true from seed.

EnergyXchange installed the original lab equipment at MCC and provided personnel to begin the lab operations. Since then Mayland Community College has secured further funding to enlarge the lab, to develop a micropropagation curriculum, and to hire additional staff that run the lab and teach the classes.
