We
provide apprenticeship opportunities to Avery, Mitchell, and
Yancey County high school students as well as Mayland Community
College students. The apprentices work between 10-20 hrs a week
and their terms range from one semester to a year. While the
apprentices are with us they are involve in all aspects of greenhouse
propagation from cleaning seed, culturing plants, seeding, transplanting,
and growing them. |
|

The
apprenticeships are designed for students, who have taken
horticulture classes in high school and show potential in
the horticultural profession. Many of them will continue on
in some form of horticultural or conservation career.
