Kelly and Anthony Schafermeyer
Claire
Kelly and Anthony Schafermeyer have been blowing glass together
since 1997. They met at the Studio at the Corning Museum of
Glass and started their collaborative process shortly after.
In 2000 they moved to New Orleans and worked there until 2004
when they were awarded the glass residency at the EnergyXchange. After completing a three-year residency they moved to their new home and studio in Pittsburgh PA.
“We are thrilled to have this opportunity, since we
started our production line in 2002 we have been searching
for a way to go from glass shop renters to glass shop owners.
This residency will give us the means to grow our company.
We can invest in the number of shows we participate in and
have high-quality images taken of our work. Additionally,
the EnergyXchange sponsors small business classes that will
help us learn to account for our business choices, track our
finances, and market our work. The EnergyXchange is going
to allow us to do what we love as artists and still make a
living.”
Claire and Anthony’s work can be found on the web and at their new home in Pittsburgh. They
are currently showing at the Dane Gallery, Amy Morgan Contemporary
Glass Gallery, and Light Opera Gallery. Please feel free to
contact them.
